DE:Noise v3 FxPlug (Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express, Motion)

DE:Noise reduces noise using novel feature-sensitive spatial filtering along with time-based optical flow methods!DE:Noise handles pesky defects such as blotchy spots, fine sensor noise, excessive film grain, CG renders affected by ray-tracing sampling artifacts, drop-outs, snow and many other flaws. The new version adds GPU support for speedups of up to 4.5 times over running DE:Noise in CPU mode. Of course your results may vary depending on your machine's hardware, OS, and driver version.

FieldsKit FxPlug (Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express)

FieldsKit provides smarter deinterlacing and better workflow options for interlaced footage.At the heart of FieldsKit is FieldsKit Deinterlacer that deinterlaces video imagery with superior results. results. Using proprietary field reconstruction and adaptive motion techniques, FieldsKit Deinterlacer can build full frames from fields that are of much higher quality than the standard approaches available in most effects and video editing applications.

The FieldsKit Reinterlacer plugin allows you create interlaced material from progressive material using various techniques, including producing new fields using motion estimation techniques. The FieldsKit Pulldown plugin allows you to animate the pulldown phase for material that has multiple cadences in the same clip.

Furthermore ReelSmart Motion Blur is now supported for Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve. Both products continue to be available for Adobe After Effects; Apple; Final Cut Pro; Avid Media Composer, Symphony and Newscutter, The Foundry Nuke, Adobe Premiere Pro, Assimilate Scratch, Blackmagic Fusion Studio, Autodesk Systems, and Sony Vegas Pro.

ReelSmart Motion Blur (RSMB) automatically adds more natural-looking motion blur to a sequence. Proprietary tracking technology is at the heart of RSMB, so there is no handwork involved. Of course you can add as little or as much blurring as you need and even remove motion blur! This is a useful tool to give video a more film-like feel, and is also useful to reintroduce motion blur for blue or green screen shoots where a fast shutter is necessary to pull a good key. Also included in some RSMB versions is a feature that allows you to blur with user-supplied motion vectors that, most likely, will come from a 3D animation system (see the RE:Vision Effects website for which versions include this feature).

ReelSmart Motion Blur can see substantial acceleration using GPUs. Note that most currently-sold GPUs will provide customers with much needed acceleration, including even many mobile GPUs for laptops. The total speedup end-users will see will vary once application overhead is taken into account, including disk I/O, internal host buffering schemes, bandwidth of PCIe bus, codec used for footage, as well as features used in the plug-ins.

  • For all hosts: Up to 12 tracking points can be specified to help guide RSMB's motion estimation. By using the tracking points you can explicitly tell RSMB where a pixel moves from one frame to the next in order to guide RSMB's calculation of motion vectors. You can set the position of each point at each frame by hand, but more importantly, these points can often be positioned from frame-to-frame using the host application's point-tracking features.

Requirements

  • After Effects CS5 or later.
  • Premiere Pro CS5 or later. CS6 or later is needed for GPU support. Customers must have a GPU that is supported by Premiere Pro. Premiere Pro does not need to support the GPU in OpenCL mode, but it must support the GPU in either the CUDA or OpenCL modes.
  • Final Cut Pro 7 or Final Cut Pro 10.0.8 and up.
  • Media Composer v6 and up, Symphony v6 and up or NewsCutter v10 and up. 64-bit version required.
  • GPU with 1G memory officially supported. GPUs with 500m can work for Twixtor, but are not officially supported.
  • Driver for GPU must support OpenCL 1.1 (even if Premiere Pro is using CUDA for your GPU). Note that Mac OS 10.7 and up automatically provides this compatibility. On Windows, check with your manufacturer for updated drivers for your GPU, and make sure that you have one that supports OpenCL 1.1. We recommend the latest drivers available.
  • Windows 7 or 8, 64-bit for GPU support. Vista is still supported for CPU mode.
  • Mac OS 10.7 or 10.8. Mac OS 10.6 still supported for CPU mode. It is highly recommended that when on Macintosh to use Mac OS 10.8 for the GPU mode of Twixtor. OpenCL drivers within are more robust and run up to 30% faster than those of Mac OS 10.7.
