LightWave 3D Training Join us for three days of LightWave training! Join us for three days of intensive LightWave 3D training! Patrik Beck will be in the Safe Harbor Computers classroom on March 15, 16 and 17 to illustrate answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about LightWave. The class on March 15 is a four hour introduction to LightWave for beginners. The classes on March 16 and 17 are one hour each of focused instruction – take just the classes you need, or take them all for a full education! [h1]March 15 Class Schedule[/h1] Introduction to LightWave Four hours for the beginning LightWave user! This in-depth intro to LightWave will have you navigating the interface, modeling and animating like an expert in no time! [h1]March 16 Class Schedule[/h1] Basic Text & Logo Creation Creating a logo from scratch, scanned images, and importing EPS files. Steps to quickly create a flying logo and tips to make it special. 9am Texturing for Industrial Design Industrial animation has unique requirements. Tips and techniques to help portray complicated manufacturing processes. 10:30am Output & Rendering Much media is being multi-purposed. Information on how to set up scenes and render appropriately to multiple formats from film, print, high definition, DV, and Flash. 12:30pm Basic Compositing How to use front projection mapping and shadow catching objects to create a believable, composited scene. Compositing can be done either by rendering completely within LightWave, or by generating elements to be composited in other applications. 2pm Lighting Why and when to use different types of lights, unconventionall lighting set ups, and fundamentals of using caustics and radiosity. And yes, there will be Lens Flares. 3:30pm [h1]March 17 Class Schedule[/h1] Keyframes There are a lot of tricks to managing keyframes. Explore the tools available in the graph editor and learn to get ‘expressions’ type functionality with out using expressions. 9am Advanced Texturing Multiple layered texturing, animated textures, looping textures, mapping and alphas. Covers common stumbling blocks many people find when surfacing. 10:30am Sasquatch Lite How to use Sasquatch Lite for fur, hair, and grass. Also covers creating and animating long hair guides. 12:30pm Hypervoxels & Particles Fun with particles! Addresses common problems often run into when using particle fx, and teaches fast and painless options with Hypervoxels. 2pm Dynamics Using LightWave’s dynamics system in everyday situations, and with particles. 3:30pm Take all three days of training for just $1000, all ten one-hour classes for $650, or attend only the classes you need.
