Academic Discounts

Safe Harbor carries a number of products that are discounted for academic sale. These are typically full-featured products that are limited only in the licensing agreement (typically you can't use them for commercial work).

To qualify for the substantial savings that academic discounts offer, you need to provide Safe Harbor with proof of qualification:

• An official purchase order from your academic institution
• Or, a copy of your class schedule showing a current date
• Or, a copy of your student or teacher ID showing a current date
• Or, a letter from a school official on school letterhead stating that you are a current student or teacher.

Email one of the above to sales@sharbor.com or fax it to 262-548-8130 within 48-hours of placing your order to avoid extra delays or order cancellation.

Specific manufacturers with different requirements are listed below.

Matrox

Matrox restricts the sale of academic products to verified schools, colleges, and universities only. Your order can be processed only by issuance of an official purchase order on school letterhead.

NewTek

Educational hardware purchases are only available to accredited educational institutions and must be accompanied with qualifying educational institute documentation.

Educational software purchases are available to accredited educational institutions, students and professors and must be accompanied with qualifying educational institute, student, employee or professor documentation.

• In order to qualify for the educational discount, the institution MUST be an accredited institution. A signed purchase order is required when placing an order with NewTek.
• In order to qualify for the educational discount, the student MUST attend at least six credit hours in a NewTek vertical market. A copy of their student ID and class schedule is required when placing an order with NewTek.
• In order to qualify for the educational discount, the professor MUST teach at an accredited institution. A copy of the professor’s ID and a copy of their pay slip (numbers may be blackened) is required when placing an order with NewTek.

Academic LightWave 3D products can be purchased on school PO, or by a student or teacher who provides proof of status (student/teacher ID, pay stub, class transcripts, etc). Software must by purchased using a credit card or check in the name of the teacher or student.

Next Limit

There is no technical difference between the educational license and a standard license.

• It is valid for 2 CPUs.
• The license is not time limited, although it does not grant you a free upgrade to newer versions. When a new major version of RealFlow is released you will need to buy again.RealFlow software is download only. The manual is also available for download.
• Educational licenses are strictly for educational purposes only, and must not be used commercially.

Adobe

Required proof of eligibility - In order to receive a serial number, individuals must provide proof that they are an eligible user of Adobe Student and Teacher Edition software. The following is needed to provide evidence of eligibility:

Students - Students must provide a photocopy of a valid, current student ID that includes the student’s name, date, and a photo. If the student does not have such an ID, he or she must instead provide a photocopy of a valid photo ID and one of the following items:

• Official, current non-photo student ID with name and date
• Official, current school transcript indicating name of school and student
• Official, current school tuition bill indicating name of school and student
• Official, current report card indicating name of school and student
• Other official dated proof of enrollment

Students who are younger than 18 and do not have a valid photo ID may provide an official letter from their eligible school stating their name and current enrollment status.

Teachers, faculty, and staff - Teachers, faculty, and staff must provide a photocopy of a valid, current school ID that includes their name, date, and a photo. If the educator does not have such an ID, he or she must instead provide a photocopy of a valid photo ID and one of the following items:

• Faculty or staff paycheck stub
• Official letter from the registrar of the educational institution

Restrictions on use - Individuals may purchase only one license of any Adobe Student and Teacher Edition. This license may be used only on privately owned computers. Adobe Student and Teacher Edition products may not be resold.

Due to Adobe's procedure, there are NO RETURNS on any Academic Editions, for any reason. Safe Harbor is not liable for purchases deemed ineligible by Adobe. Be sure you can comply with their requirements before purchasing.

E-on Software

The Vue 7 licensing scheme for educational licenses is based on an annual subscription. Licenses are valid for one year from the date of first activation. This annual subscription includes free upgrades to any .5 or full versions released during the subscription period.

Expired Educational Licenses will continue to operate as PLE; this limitation is automatically removed (when the subscription is renewed), by simple reactivation.
