| Matrox Previews MatroxHD with Adobe Premiere Pro at NAB Matrox Video Products Group has announced that it will preview Matrox HD, a family of HD editing products based on a new realtime 10-bit multi-stream architecture designed for broadcasters, post-production facilities, and developers of NLE, CG, clip store and video server systems. Matrox HD will be demonstrated, in conjunction with Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, here at NAB 2004 in the Matrox booth SL4031, as well as the Adobe and Microsoft booths. "At NAB 2004 we expect to see lots of "HD" products that will do some amount of realtime processing at 720p resolution which requires only 2 ½ times more processing power than SD. The true test of a realtime architecture is support for what facilities really want - 1080i and 1080p resolutions which require almost 6 times more processing power than SD," said Alain Legault, Matrox vice president of product development. "Realtime features such as color correction, titling, speed changes, transitions, and DVEs at 1080i and 1080p are what we will be offering in the Matrox HD line of products." "Matrox is again paving the way for the future of realtime editing on your desktop, this time in HD," said Bernard Lamborelle, Matrox director of technical marketing. "Building on our proven 'Power of X' technology that leverages scalable CPU power with the explosive performance of dedicated hardware, we're advancing the state-of-the-art toward editing HD, as if it were SD - affordably, in realtime, and with complete flexibility." The new Matrox HD family of products is scheduled for introduction later in 2004.
