Wacom Introduces New Cintiq 21UX Interactive Pen Display

March 2, 2010

Wacom® has introduced the much anticipated Cintiq®21UX, its newly-redesigned interactive pen display delivering state-of-the-art pen performance and innovative ergonomics in a color-accurate LCD display. Designed specifically to meet the demanding needs of professional photographers, designers, artists and animators, the new Cintiq 21UX offers unparalleled creative control, comfort and productivity.

The Cintiq 21UX experience starts with its amazing new pen performance, capable of capturing the slightest nuance of pen pressure against the LCD surface, as well as offering 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity. Other innovative enhancements include rear-mounted Touch Strips that are ideally placed for fingertip access while working. Each Touch Strip has an accompanying thumb-controlled Touch Strip Toggle button that controls up to four different user-assigned functions per application such as zoom, scroll, brush size adjustment and canvas rotation. In addition, the overall design has been refined and updated in an all-black color scheme, providing a sophisticated and handsome look.

2048 Reasons to Work Directly On Screen
The Cintiq 21UX Grip Pen features Wacom’s new proprietary Tip Sensor technology, offering users near-zero (one gram) starting pressure for the most sensitive interactive pen display performance to date. "Now, pressure-sensitive support can start with an incredibly light touch, emulating the same organic feel, response and result derived from working with traditional brushes, markers and pens," said Don Varga, Senior Product Manager for Wacom Technology Corp. Additionally, the Cintiq pen delivers 2048 levels of pressure, doubling the resolution of the pen’s pressure curve and greatly improving the accuracy of pressure-sensitive effects such as controlling line weights or opacity adjustments. The Grip Pen also features a pressure-sensitive eraser and two customizable side switches that can be customized for commands such as double-click and right-click.

New Design Elements Improve Workflow
With a new ergonomic design and productivity features, the Cintiq 21UX is the ultimate tool for creative professionals. The customizable, application-specific ExpressKeys™, eight located on each side of the display’s bezel, are instrumental in helping improve workflow and boost productivity by placing commonly used commands at the fingertips. Pressing the top ExpressKey brings up an on-screen display showing the settings of all the ExpressKeys and Touch Strips. The close proximity of these tools to the actual work area is efficient and comfortable and helps save valuable time by minimizing dependence on the keyboard without taking focus away from the pen hand.

Also new to the Cintiq 21UX is the introduction of two user-defined, four-function Touch Strip Toggle buttons which control the function of their associated Touch Strip, located on the back of the bezel. The position of an illuminated LED located along the perimeter of the Toggle button indicates the current function of the Touch Strip. Fully application-specific, the Touch Strips can be used for up to four functions such as zoom, scroll, brush size adjustment and canvas rotation per application. This new ergonomic treatment is also extremely practical, allowing users to "toggle" with their thumbs while using their forefinger or middle finger to control Touch Strip speed and variation. "The four-function Toggle combined with the new location of the Touch Strips provides increased comfort and measurable increases in speed," says Varga. "Additionally, locating the Touch Strips on the back of the pen display rather the front helps prevent accidental contact with the pen hand when, for example, flowing brush strokes are employed and extend beyond the screen’s border."

Stand and Deliver
The Cintiq 21UX’s patented stand allows users to recline the pen display at any angle between 10 degrees and 65 degrees to match the users ideal working posture. In addition to reclining, the Cintiq 21UX can be rotated up to 180 degrees in either direction to take advantage of natural drawing movements or offer a different viewing angle. If desired, users can easily remove the Cintiq from the stand for use on a table top or to attach it to an articulating arm (not included) using the standard VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) mounts located on the back of the display.

A new weighted pen stand is not only a convenient pen holder, but doubles as a handy twist-off storage compartment for pen nibs and handy nib removal tool. Standard, felt and stroke nibs are provided, allowing users to simulate the feel of working with a variety of traditional art and design materials.

Included Software
To help users get started right out of the box, the Cintiq 21UX ships with valuable creative software from several of our software partners:

  • Corel® Painter™ Sketch Pad for recreating the natural feeling of sketching and painting by hand
  • Nik® Color Efex Pro™ 3.0 WE6 for selectively applying lighting and photo enhancements with the pen
  • Wacom Brushes 3.0 for 81 customized brushes for use with Adobe® Photoshop® CS + and Photoshop Elements 4 +

Additionally, Cintiq 21UX users will also benefit from Wacom’s powerful driver software, including radial menus for quick "pen-point" access to additional customized shortcuts.

Creative Accessories
Wacom has a line of accessories to complement the Cintiq 21UX that address the specific needs of individual users. The Art Pen, for example, supports the barrel rotation feature within such applications as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator® and Corel Painter 11, allowing users to create natural brush effects by rotating the pen, much like a calligraphy pen. The Art Pen is newly designed and features a round barrel with two nib options, standard and chisel-tip. The Airbrush pen offers users a digital airbrush that has a similar form and wheel-based control as a traditional airbrush. It provides creative, fun effects when combined with select applications. Cintiq 21UX accessories can be conveniently purchased at the direct.wacom.com Internet site.

Wacom Intuos4 is Here

March 25, 2009

Wacom® today unveiled the long anticipated Intuos®4, a revolutionary new professional pen tablet that delivers new features and unparalleled performance to photographers, designers and artists seeking optimal control and improved productivity. Inspired by members of Wacom's professional community, the next generation Intuos is anchored by the Intuos4's amazing new pen performance, capable of capturing the slightest nuance of pen pressure against the tablet surface, as well as offering 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity. Other innovative product enhancements include a refined and intelligent industrial design that provides real advancements in looks, comfort and control. Specific workflow and productivity tools to savor include the customizable shortcut and modifier keys with accompanying OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) displays, which allow users to see, via the displays, what the keys are currently set to.

All New Pen Performance
The Intuos4 Grip Pen features Wacom's new proprietary Tip Sensor technology, offering users near-zero (one gram) starting pressure for the most sensitive Intuos pen tablet performance to date.

"Now, pressure-sensitive support can start with an incredibly light touch, emulating the same feel, response and result derived from working with traditional creative tools such as brushes, markers and pens," said Don Varga, Senior Product Manager for Wacom Technology Corp.

Additionally, the Intuos4 pen delivers 2048 levels of pressure, doubling the resolution of the pen's pressure curve to further enhance feedback and expand the creative effects within software applications that support pressure sensitivity. "Delivering a consistently responsive and fruitful pen tablet experience starts with the pen and the Intuos4 Grip Pen provides a broader range of input options that will delight even the most discriminating professional," continues Varga. "In addition, our latest pen technology should encourage Wacom's software partners to continue to expand pen-related features and functionality." The Intuos4 Grip Pen also features a pressure-sensitive eraser and two customizable side switches that can be customized for commands such as double-click and right-click. For those looking for a pen with a thicker barrel, a wide-body Intuos4 replacement grip is being made available as an optional accessory.

Breakthrough Design Improves Workflow, Boosts Productivity
With its ergonomic design, the ultra-slim Intuos4 pen tablet is the ideal creative instrument for working with digital content in comfort. Available in four sizes, small, medium, large and extra large, all wide format, the Intuos4's new asymmetrical design puts all of the customizable ExpressKeys™ and Touch Ring on one side of the tablet, making them all available to the users' non-dominant hand. The application-specific ExpressKeys are instrumental in helping improve workflow and boost productivity by placing commonly used commands right at the fingertips. The close proximity of these tools to the actual work area is efficient and comfortable and helps save valuable time by minimizing dependence on the keyboard without taking focus away from the pen hand. New to the Intuos4 are illuminated (OLED) displays (not featured on the Intuos4 small) that provide a helpful reminder as to the current function of each ExpressKey. With past Intuos versions, users had to rely on their memory to recall the position of their specific settings. As these settings can be application specific, the displays will update immediately as the user changes between applications. To switch the tablet from right-handed to left-handed use, simply rotate the tablet 180 degrees and change the orientation of the illuminated icons within the Wacom Tablet driver software.

"Wacom's new Intuos4 provides Adobe® Photoshop® CS4 and our latest Creative Suite products with an approachable interface, enhanced pen performance, elegant design and new non-dominant hand features," said Julieanne Kost, Senior Digital Imaging Evangelist for Adobe. "For me, the Wacom pen tablet has always been particularly beneficial when working on photo compositing projects within Photoshop and it did not take long to discover the vast improvements in workflow this new pen tablet delivers. By combining the super-accurate pen with OLED-displayed keyboard shortcuts, I am able to navigate and complete Photoshop work sessions quickly and efficiently."

Also new to the Intuos4 is the introduction of a user-defined Touch Ring capable of controlling up to four different functions in any application. A button located in the center of the ring "toggles" the ring between functions such as zoom, scroll, brush size adjustment, canvas rotation and layer selection. The position of the illuminated LED located along the perimeter of the Touch Ring indicates the current function.

"The Intuos4 design carries form and function to new heights," said Varga. "Never before has a Wacom pen tablet so elegantly provided such tangible workflow and productivity enhancements."

More Intuos4 Innovations
A new weighted pen stand not only provides a convenient pen holder, but also functions as a handy twist-off storage compartment for pen nibs and handy nib removal tool. Standard, felt, stroke and flex nibs ship with the Intuos4, allowing users to simulate the feel of working with a variety of traditional art and design materials. If users have a task for which they prefer a mouse, the Intuos4 includes the most advanced, cordless, battery-free mouse that Wacom has ever developed. A technology upgrade in the mouse allows the cursor to move based on both the direction and orientation of the mouse, delivering smooth and accurate tracking across the tablet surface. Each of the five buttons and the scroll wheel can be customized by the user.

Valuable Softwar
Purchase of an Intuos4 entitles professionals to pick and choose valuable software titles based on individual needs. Wacom has instituted a new online download system, available in the Americas only, whereby Intuos4 owners will be able to make a pre-defined number of selections from the following valuable creative software applications: Wacom Brushes 3.0, Nik® Color Efex Pro™ WE6, Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 7 for the PC (Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 6 for the Mac), Autodesk® SketchBook® Express 2010, and Corel® Painter™ Sketch Pad. In addition, Intuos4 users will appreciate the significant upgrades to Wacom's powerful, user-friendly driver software, including the introduction of radial menus for quick "penpoint" access to additional customized shortcuts.

"Wacom totally nailed it with the Intuos4 and it has already changed the way I work in Adobe Photoshop," said Scott Kelby, President of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. "From the design of the tablet and the way it responds, to the brilliant way Wacom has incorporated OLED displays to show which shortcut or modifier tasks are assigned to what ExpressKey on the tablet surface, you instantly know that this is a tool designed for creatives. This will be the tablet that made everyone who has ever wondered if they should be using a tablet finally get on board. It's that good!"

Noteworthy Accessories
In order to provide the best pen tablet experience possible, Wacom has created a line of accessories that includes several types of pens. For example, the Art Pen supports the barrel rotation feature within such applications as Adobe Photoshop®, Illustrator® and Corel® Painter® 11, allowing users to create natural brush effects by rotating the pen, much like a calligraphy pen. The Art Pen is newly designed and features a round barrel with two nib options, standard and chisel-tip. Another pen, the Intuos4 Airbrush, offers users a digital airbrush that has a similar form and wheel based control as a traditional airbrush. It provides creative, fun effects when combined with select applications. Intuos4 accessories, available soon, are conveniently located at the www.wacomdirect.com Internet site.

"By listening to our customers we are able to deliver today a revolutionary pen tablet packed with new technologies and features that exemplifies Wacom's commitment to the professional creative community," said Joe Deal, President of Wacom Technology Corp. "The Intuos4 is a sophisticated pen tablet that artfully addresses their needs with exciting new pen performance and thoughtful detailing."

The Intuos4, available now, comes in four sizes to meet varying workflow and workspace requirements - small ($229 SRP), medium ($369 SRP), large ($499 SRP) and extra large ($789 SRP).

Wacom Pen Input Livens Adobe Creative Suite 4

October 7, 2008

Wacom® today announced support for Adobe® Creative Suite® 4, officially launched yesterday, providing significant workflow advantages and numerous ways for users working with a Wacom pen tablet or interactive pen display to naturally express their creative ideas and enhance productivity. Adobe’s creative professional software applications work exceptionally well with Wacom’s natural pen input solutions. Whether retouching a photo in Adobe Photoshop® CS4, completing a drawing in Adobe Illustrator® CS4, constructing an interactive document with Adobe InDesign® CS4, or creating a new animated character in Adobe Flash® CS4 Professional, a Wacom pen offers the control and interactivity that professionals demand.

In addition to its obvious artistic capabilities, the Wacom pen offers ergonomic and navigational benefits to the CS4 user. For example, the pen provides an intuitive control for operating sliders when editing a sound segment in Adobe Soundbooth® CS4. And because the pen is positioned in the hand in a natural manner and provides exceptional freedom of movement many professionals report that this type of input, especially when used with creative applications, offers superior physical comfort. For Web designers who work in Dreamweaver® CS4 and move between multiple applications such as Photoshop or Illustrator, the pen delivers precise control throughout all of the applications in Adobe’s Creative Suite 4.

"Adobe and Wacom have worked closely together to provide customers with a natural, results-focused computing experience," said David Macy, Senior Product Manager for Illustrator at Adobe. "While some applications within CS4, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator, are certainly more pen-centric than others, we also recognize pen input as a valuable tool for other applications within the CS4 family and we will continue to work closely with Wacom to develop new and exciting features."

Productivity Benefits for both Hands
Wacom’s Intuos®3 pen tablets and Cintiq® interactive pen displays feature customizable ExpressKeys™ and Touch Strips for quick access to keyboard shortcuts and modifiers. These non-dominant hand features greatly enhance productivity by fully utilizing the users hand that is not controlling the pen. Since the customized settings can be application specific, CS4 users can create and save unique personalized settings for each individual application. For example, a new feature within Photoshop CS4 is dynamic brush resizing. Holding down the Ctrl + Opt keys while clicking down and dragging left or right dynamically adjusts the brush size. This command could easily be attributed to an ExpressKey for fast, simple access to brush resizing.

Collaborating in CS4 with Adobe ConnectNow
Adobe ConnectNow is a new online resource in CS4 and especially interesting to those working with a Wacom pen. This service enables users (colleagues, clients, etc.) to remotely share screens and collaborate in real time. With this whiteboard functionality, users can draw or annotate directly on an image, easily communicate changes and share their ideas or concepts with others.

"Adobe CS4 opens up a wealth of creative opportunities to Wacom’s current and future customer base," said Scott Rawlings, Vice President of Marketing for Wacom Technology Corp. "ConnectNow being a prime example, Adobe clearly embraces the extended idea and power of the pen. Not only is it great for art, photo retouching and image compositing, but it’s also easy and natural for collaboration and review, even when working remotely. With the cumulative impact of pen-specific features in CS4, there is no better time to experience the benefits of Wacom pen input when working with these creative applications."

Mark your calendar! A brand new slate of exciting professional development programs for wedding and event videographers starts…NOW!

Philadelphia will be the site for the official kick-off of the 8th Annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour, and all-new WEVA Institute workshops on Monday March 20!

And, spectacular Mandalay Bay will host the 16th Annual WEVA EXPO August 21-24th.

Sponsored by Adobe Systems, the 2006 city-wide WEVA Town Meeting Tour stops will also include: Chicago (March 27), Atlanta (March 30), Los Angeles (April 3), San Jose (April 5), and Las Vegas (April 25 - NAB week).

WEVA and its members will be working in tandem with some of the largest local videographers associations in the nation in producing and presenting a fresh, inspiring, and cutting-edge series of professional development programs custom designed for wedding & event videographers.

2006 Tour to Kick-Off in Philadelphia
"Our association will be building on the huge success of the World Record Wedding Video Event last month organized by the Sacramento Professional Videographers Association (SPVA), which WEVA co-sponsored and where our association presented a post-Event day of state-of-the-art programming at the WEVA Institute workshops. We're looking forward to following up on this success with the start of the 2006 Town Meetings. All-new and exciting presentations by leading videographers will kick off the Town Meeting in Philadelphia, which is home to one of the largest and most active local videographers associations in the country," Chapman said.

"It is with great anticipation and pride that we receive the news of the 2006 WEVA Town Meeting's visit to Philly," said Bruce Garner, President of the Greater Philadelphia Videographers Association (GPVA).

"WEVA's ongoing commitment to education in our industry is one of the things that GPVA values the most. The annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour has been a large part of that education and we look forward to being part of the Tour this season," said Garner.

WEVA EXPO 2006 Heads to the Beaches of Mandalay Bay
"It's official! The WEVA 16th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo will be held at the world famous Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, NV on August 21-24, 2006," said WEVA Director of Association Communications Dan Argenas.

"We are thrilled to have Mandalay Bay, a jewel property, as our official host for WEVA EXPO 2006 for what will be our industry’s biggest and best convention and trade show to date," said WEVA International Chairman Roy Chapman.

All WEVA EXPO 2006 programs and activities, including the 2006 WEVA Trade Show will be held at Mandalay Bay. Room reservations for WEVA attendees will open through Mandalay Bay next week.

Choice of Mandalay Bay or Luxor
This year, WEVA EXPO attendees will have the choice of staying at Mandalay Bay at the rate of just $139/night or at Luxor, which is directly connected to Mandalay Bay by indoor tram and walkway at the rate of just $99/night.

"We have listened closely to WEVA members, and in working with Mandalay Bay we finally found a diamond property that has responded to our requests and is able to accommodate suggestions from our attendees by expanding the options that WEVA EXPO 2006 can offer," said Chapman.

The WEVA EXPO 2006 dates at Mandalay Bay represent a change from the early August dates first announced (without location) last fall. "Unlike in the past, it became clear this year, with so many new industry technologies emerging all at once and overlapping, that the Siggraph show scheduled the same week in early August was presenting a conflict for too many exhibitors who wanted to be able to have their top staff and extensive displays and workstations set up at both shows," said Chapman. "It’s the first time an EXPO date has been changed, but it’s also the first time we feel we have finally found exceptional choices in accommodations for everyone — at a resort property that is absolutely awesome — and one that allows our association ample room for growth!"

Cutting-Edge Programs on New Creativity, Techniques, and Emerging Technologies
The unveiling of a stellar slate of WEVA EXPO 2006 seminars, workshops, system training sessions and networking activities set to take professional wedding and event videographers worldwide to a whole new level of creativity, skills, and profitability is already being planned, said John Zale, WEVA’s Director of Educational Development.

"The 2006 WEVA Town Meeting Tour and professional development workshops planned for this new season will usher in new advancements in emerging technologies that affect all videographers," Zale said.

"Our goal for the 2006 Tour, which will lead right into WEVA EXPO is to put WEVA members right on the cutting-edge of techniques and technology that will improve workflow and result in new business, new bookings at higher levels, and even new weekday work."

Special events and programs arranged for the 8th Annual WEVA Town Meeting Tour and new WEVA Institute workshops will be unveiled later this week on the WEVA Town Meeting and WEVA Institute sections of the WEVA website along with instant online registration.

Official EXPO Opening Happens Monday August 21
More information will be posted shortly for the WEVA 16th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo, which will officially open at 5:30 p.m. at Mandalay Bay on Monday August 21, 2006. WEVA EXPO 2006 will conclude by 5:00 p.m. Thursday August 24, 2006. An all-new slate of optional, pre-convention workshops will be held Monday afternoon starting at 12:30 p.m.

A special orientation and Welcome Event for first-time WEVA EXPO attendees will be presented Monday morning August 21 at 10:30 a.m.

And, Dan Krieger, Chairman of the WEVA Continuing Education Committee notes that a new round of testing for the WEVA Merited Professional Videographer (MPV) accreditation will also be held at this year’s EXPO.

Watch the WEVA website for more details on all of the outstanding new programs coming up from the Wedding & Event Videographers Association International.

EventDV to Unveil EVENTDV 25 at 4EVER Group Convention Awards Banquet January 9

December 6, 2005

The EVENTDV 25 honors the 25 "hottest" or most influential videographers working in the field today. "Our industry has excellent awards programs that recognize superior individual works and honor lifetime achievement," said EventDV editor Stephen F. Nathans. "But until now there's been no award designed specifically for videographers who are exerting a profound influence on the field right now. That's where the EVENTDV 25 comes in. Think of it as our 2005 All-Star Team."

EventDV began accepting nominations from its readers in July through an online voting system, and convened an Executive Committee comprised of five of the top videographers in the business to consider candidates for the list and debate key criteria. Nathans served as moderator for the committee. "There's more to being hot or influential than winning awards, as we discovered," Nathans said. "And just because you were a major player in the field 10 years ago doesn't mean your peers still regard you as influential today."

The main criteria for inclusion include the following: creating innovative or award-winning work, speaking at conferences, developing educational materials like instructional DVDs, contributing to magazines and online forums, and taking leadership roles in local and national associations. "For each honoree," Nathans said, "the qualifications were a little different."

Sponsors for the EVENTDV 25 are Sony and JVC.

The EVENTDV 25 will be presented in two places: at the 4EVER Group's Video 06 on January 9, and in the cover story of the January 2006 issue of EventDV. The EVENTDV 25 awards will be presented to honorees on the opening night of the convention at the Video 06 awards banquet, which runs from 7-11 PM. The presentation of the 4EVER Group's own Artistic Achievement Awards will headline the evening. EventDV is a Media Partner of Video 06.

Video 06, the 4EVER Event Video Group Convention and Trade Show runs January 9-12, 2006 at Disney's Coronado Resort in Orlando, Florida. Registration is still open. For more information on Video 06, visit http://www.4evergroup.org/conventionandtradeshow.html.

Published by Information Today, Inc. of Medford, New Jersey, EventDV is a monthly magazine with editorial offices in Madison, Wisconsin. With a current subscriber base of 24,000, the magazine is available free to qualified professional videographers. EventDV received a 2005 Folio Eddie Bronze Award for editorial excellence. September 19, 2005

Wacom’s new Graphire4 pen tablets provide the tools needed to have fun editing photos and exploring digital creativity. These new pen tablets include a patented, cordless, battery-free pen and mouse, a tablet and five valuable software applications. Using the natural control of the pen and the included software, it’s easy to enhance photos and to create artwork for scrapbooks, craft projects and slide shows. It’s also easy to communicate more personally by using the pen to digitally jot notes, annotate documents and sketch quick diagrams. Graphire4 pen tablets are available immediately in a choice of three colors (Silver, White and Metallic Blue) and two sizes (4x5 and 6x8) which are priced at $99 and $199.

"Wacom is delighted to present a product that is designed for people embracing a digital lifestyle," said Joseph W. Deal, President and CEO of Wacom Technology Corporation. "In the same way our Intuos products meet the needs of serious photographers, designers and artists, the new affordable Graphire4 provides the creative controls and applications for countless hours of personal fun."

Cordless, Battery-Free Graphire4 Pen
The comfortable Graphire4 pen offers 512 levels of pressure sensitivity for control, two programmable side-buttons for convenience and a pressure-sensitive eraser for easy fixes. Pressure sensitivity makes it possible to control the amount of a software tool's effect simply by varying how firmly the pen tip is pressed to the tablet. Using a Graphire4 pen is easy because every point on the tablet has a matching point on the screen. When the pen is moved over the tablet the cursor moves in precisely the same way on the screen.

Cordless, Battery-Free Graphire4 Mouse
The Graphire4 mouse is ball-free so tracking is always smooth and highly accurate with up to four times the resolution of an optical mouse. It features a rubberized grip for comfort and the scrolling fingerwheel also serves as a third programmable button for convenience. Alternately using the pen and mouse reduces repetitive motion.

Graphire4 Tablet
The Graphire4 tablet uses a USB connection for quick installation on both PCs and Macs. The new transparent photo frame makes the tablet easy to personalize with photos and artwork. The photo frame also contains a clever pen compartment that, along with the pen stand, provides two convenient ways to keep the pen handy and secure. The Graphire4 now features a scroll wheel right on the tablet and two programmable ExpressKeys™ for navigation, mouse clicks and keyboard shortcuts.

Software For Enhancing Photos With Pen Control
The control of the Graphire4 pen and the included copy of Adobe® (Nasdaq: ADBE) Photoshop® Elements 3 make it possible to quickly and easily edit and organize digital photos. Selectively applying high-quality photographic enhancements using the included nik Color Efex Pro™ 2 GE filter collection is also a breeze. "Wacom’s pen tablets offer the right tools for editing photos and deliver a totally natural feel to digital art," says Ms. Lynette Kent, renowned art instructor and digital scrapbooking author. "The controls and applications included with the new Graphire4 are all about making the personal creative experience fun, free flowing and easy."

Drawing And Painting Software
The natural feel of the Graphire pen and the amazing capabilities of Corel® Painter™ Essentials 2 (included) make creating great looking artwork fun. When used with a Wacom pen, Painter Essentials 2 can look and feel like just about any natural art tool and is perfect for creating original artwork from photos.

Software For Jotting Notes, Marking-Up And More
On a PC, JustWrite Office™ 4 (included) offers the ability to annotate Microsoft® (Nasdaq: MSFT) Office documents and EverNote Plus™ (included) makes it possible to jot instantly retrievable notes and organize all types of information. EverNote Plus makes managing personal information easy by providing handwriting recognition, shape recognition, a timeline view of notes, instantaneous note searching, web page cataloging, customizable categories and more. On a Mac, the Graphire4 pen provides the control to enjoy all the digital-inking capabilities of Apple® (Nasdaq: AAPL) Inkwell®.

Additionally, Graphire4 customers using Adobe’s free downloadable Acrobat® 7 Reader can mark up Acrobat documents with digital ink, if the "Enable for commenting in Acrobat Reader" feature was turned on when the document was created.
