EMP|SFM [Experience Music Project|Science Fiction Museum] Editor: David Wulzen Location: Seattle, WA Website: www.empsfm.org ToolKit: * CalDigit HDOne * Final Cut Pro * AJA Kona 3 Experience Music Project|Science Fiction Museum (EMP|SFM) is a museum dedicated to the exploration of creativity and innovation in popular music and the thought-provoking ideas and experiences of science fiction. Everything that I have experienced with the HDOne can be summed up in one word – simple. From opening the box, to being up and running, to monitoring drive health and speeds, it is all incredibly simple. Just the way it should be. And in using the HDOne for the last 9 months, I have not had a single issue. None. The beauty in the drive just humming along speaks for itself. Here at EMP|SFM I shoot and edit documentaries to pair with our in-house exhibits, as well as multi-cam concerts that we hold at the museum. In making each documentary, I’m pulling any number of our over 800 filmed oral histories shot over the last 15 years, a number that I am helping grow by the week. Needless to say, on any given exhibit, we have the potential of working with a lot of different footage – standard def, high def, film, tape based, tapeless, etc. With the collection growing, and moving fully into the world of HD, having an array like the HDOne to handle anything I can throw at it just makes my life a whole lot easier.
