    • 16 Bit Color Depth: 16 bit deep-color provides users with the ability to generate smoother gradients and more precise color correction via an expanded color palette, which expands the available color gamut from 16 million (8 bit color) to trillions of colors.) the result Is that gradients are far less prone to mach banding or color stepping.

Final Effects Complete 5 FxPlug is a set of 100+ visual effects filters re-designed for Apple's FxPlug plug-in architecture, providing seamless integration with Apple Final Cut Pro and Motion. FEC 5 FxPlug adds new support for 16 bit-color processing and takes full advantage of FxPlug for a big performance boost including unlimited RT filters and native Final Cut Pro transitions. The same FEC filters are recognized by Motion and run within Motion's accelerated GPU environment for improved compatibility and flexible workflow.

One of the first plug-in packages released for Adobe After Effects, the heart of Final Effects Complete is its ability to generate full-featured two-dimensional and three-dimensional particle animations including ball action, explosions, distortions, jet trails, hair, liquid mercury distortions, spotlights, and color transitions.

Significant new features in version 5
FEC 5 takes full advantage of many technologies found in Boris Continuum Complete. Features such as PixelChooser, Motion Tracker, Preset Loader and Online Documentation - hallmarks of BCC filters - are now included with FEC, too.

New UI
The new modernized native parameter UI sports new control groups, contextual controls, on-screen widgets, custom controls and many other improvements. All parameter options are now readily available as native parameters without a need to open modal dialog windows.

16 Bit Rendering
FEC 5 includes both 8 and 16 bit filters for highest quality image processing.

MP Acceleration
All filters have been optimized from the original version to take full advantage of multi core and multi processor computing platforms. The overall speedup varies from filter to filter.

PixelChooser Technology
Most FEC 5 filters feature the award-winning Boris PixelChooser where appropriate. PixelChooser is an internal method of selectively applying the image processing to the image based on criteria defined by the user. The criteria may vary from color channel information to simple geometric shapes to spline-based masks available in After Effects. This method is superior to layer duplication and masking because it is more flexible and efficient. The mask can be applied to various stages of pre and post processing. The parts of the image not chosen by the mask remain untouched by the filter.

Multitude Of Standard Presets
As any Boris product FEC 5 ships with over 800 pre-saved presets for quick new looks. Custom presets can be saved and shared between multiple workstations and even emailed to other users.

Extensive Filter Enhancements
FEC 5 AE adds new features and improvements to every one of the 108 filters in the set.
Highlights include:

  • Auto-animation in many of the transitions
  • Extensive new controls in FEC Hair such as the ability to generate curly hair instead of just straight hair as well as the ability to modulate the gravity direction across the image based on a gradient map
  • New FEC Bubbles controls for drift direction, particle randomness, and source texture mapping pinning. In addition, FEC Bubbles now includes a Deflector point to create regions with no bubbles.
  • Much better lighting controls in Mr Mercury, Blobblylize, Glue Gun, Glass, and Ball Action
  • Two new particle types in Particle Systems II Advanced Sphere and Advanced Lens. These new particle types allow you to generate different looking spheres with more extensive lighting control.

  • Lens Wipe: The incoming image Zooms in with a lens effect -the lens then undistorts to complete the transition
  • Spherize Wipe: The incoming image Zooms in with a Spherize effect -the Spherize then undistorts to complete the transition
  • Griddler Wipe: The incoming image Zooms in with a Griddler effect -the Spherize then undistorts to complete the transition
  • Pin Wipe: The incoming image Zooms in with it's 4 corners pinned to user chosen points (as in Power Pin Effect). The 4 corners then move to the corners of the image, completing the transition
  • Slant Wipe: The incoming image Pans in with a Slant effect effect -the Slant then undistorts to complete the transition.
  • Rain Wipe: The in coming image is wiped in matted with synthetic rain, which becomes dense enough to cover the whole image, completing the effect
  • Blur Dissolve: The incoming and outgoing images are blurred, with the blur automatically animating to 0 at the end of the effect when the image becomes fully visible, completing the effect. Apply modes can be used with the blurs to create glow and other unusual effects. Apply modes can be applied to the dissolve phase to boost contrast in the middle of the effect. This feature can be used very effectively without the blur to create an enhanced dissolve.

All of the new transitions have hold and ease controls at the start of the effect and additional transition specific controls to allow the user to control effect timing without keyframes.

  • MultiClip Editing. Media 100 Suite’s new MultiClip Editing feature facilitates real-time editing of multiple video and audio sources in a familiar, easy-to-use interface. A camera can be added to an existing MultiClip as its source media becomes available, allowing you to begin cutting a multicam shoot faster than ever before. Cameras can be synced via timecode, sync marks, or in-points. When syncing via timecode, additional footage can even be assigned to an existing camera extremely helpful in situations where a camera has been stopped to change tapes or batteries.
  • VoiceOver Tool. Media 100 Suite’s new VoiceOver Tool allows direct-to-timeline audio recording while playing back timeline audio and video. Primarily designed for recording narration, the VoiceOver Tool leverages Media 100 Suite's new MultiClip architecture to allow for multiple takes nested inside a single audio clip in the timeline. VoiceOvers can be recorded as stereo pairs or separate channels allowing different narrators to record in a single take. Other possibilities include simultaneously recording dialogue to separate channels or laying down a live music track.
  • Matrox MXO2 Support. Media 100 Suite adds new support for Matrox MXO2, a portable I/O device that delivers broadcast-quality input/output, monitoring, and up/down/cross conversion. Compatible with MacBook Pros and Mac Pros, MXO2 weighs under 3˝ pounds and lets you work seamlessly in any Media 100-supported format. If you are looking for a traditional rack-mounted installation, Media 100 Suite also supports the MXO2 Rack. The Matrox MAX option for accelerated encoding to H.264 direct from Media 100 is also supported.
