DESCRIPTION ButterflyNetRender™ (BNR) Is a Animation Network Rendering Software Manager which is comprised of 2 applications: - ‘ButterflyNetRender – Controller’: This will be installed on one machine and will be used the Control the Rendering scenes - It will communication with the BNR Clients.
- 'ButterflyNetRender – Client’: This will be installed on all the machines that will be used for ‘rendering’ the animation frames. The BNR Client can have 1 or more ‘rendernodes’ - that can be assigned to a ‘CPU’ on the machine.

- Clients: Intel, OSX, Linux RedHat 8/9/ FC3
- CPU: Intel, AMD, (Alpha for the Client) (OSX and Linux for the Client)
- CPU Speed: Pentium III 800mhz or better
- RAM: 64 MB for Controller, ~5 MB for Client
- A shared network directory that the Controller and Clients can access.
- A Static IP address/Name for the Controller that the Client machines can locate (ping).
- Supports Lightwave, Messiah Studio, Modo and Custom scene types
NOTE: Windows 98/NT/2000/XP/7 (Workstation) only support 10 connects per Shared path, so if you want to have more then 10 nodes share a directory, you will need to use a different file server Like: Linux with Samba (Red Hat) or Windows NT Server. NOTE: Windows® XP Home Edition is a consumer operating system which only supports 5 peer to peer networking computers and it does NOT support advanced networking such as domain authentication. |
