Benefits of Monitor Bezel Management: Real life simulation Supported resolutions
Portability and installation Unlike installing a new graphics card, TripleHead2Go doesn't require opening your computer, inserting parts into it, or replacing any hardware or software. Setup is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Once the software is installed, it's basically just a matter of connecting your monitors. Compatibility Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition provides a completely new way to add multi-display support to a notebook, desktop or workstation. This external box connects to the dual-link digital or analog (VGA) monitor connector of a system and divides the signal for use with 3 separate digital or analog monitors. Each display can then be used to view different information. There are devices from other manufacturers that also "divide" the monitor output from a computer for 2 or more monitors, but they only serve to copy the same output. TripleHead2Go Digital Edition doesn't require opening a computer, inserting parts into it, or replacing any hardware. This solution uses the existing hardware of a system for 2D, 3D, and video acceleration. Think outside the box Additionally, the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition returns support for regular, VESA-standard single screen resolutions. Notice that a resolution of 3840x1024 is the equivalent to putting three 1280x1024 native monitors side-by-side horizontally and adding up the total resolution. When you first restart a computer after connecting TripleHead2Go Digital Edition to it, the operating system detects a single new "monitor" and its settings. If this new "monitor" isn't the only one in the system (as with a notebook), it may need to first be enabled in Windows. You can check display settings in Windows by right-clicking the Windows desktop background and then clicking Properties > Settings. Here, you can select the number of the display you're using and make sure "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" is enabled for that display. After the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition "monitor" is first enabled, that display will use a standard, single-display resolution. Since this resolution doesn't have enough information to divide over 3 displays, TripleHead2Go Digital Edition defaults to displaying information on a single monitor. However, the more typical usage for this product occurs when one of the available ultra-widescreen resolutions (3072 x 768 or 3840 x 1024) is applied. With an ultra-widescreen resolution, the operating system continues to treat the monitor output as a single display (for example, for the purposes of selecting color settings), but TripleHead2Go Digital Edition automatically divides the display image into three for use with 3 separate monitors. From the operating system point of view, the multi-display provided by TripleHead2Go Digital Edition is similar to the "stretched" mode available with Matrox multi-display graphics cards. If there are no other displays in the system, one of the advantages with this mode is that software doesn't need to be multi-display aware. For example, 2D, 3D, and video acceleration can occur as if the 3 displays were 1 (albeit, 1 display with a resolution three times as wide as a typical display). You can use the multi-display support provided by TripleHead2Go Digital Edition without adding or replacing any system software. The display driver of the existing graphics hardware can continue to be used. However, to improve multi-display support, TripleHead2Go Digital Edition includes Matrox PowerDesk software. This software has the same easy-to-use interface included with Matrox graphics cards. Among other things, PowerDesk provides controls for where dialog boxes and message boxes appear, how windows are maximized, and adjusting image quality. PowerDesk software helps improve image quality by calibrating the phase adjustment to properly interpret the input signal. With the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition, PowerDesk offers the flexibility to select a wider range of resolutions, including support for widescreen and standard aspect ratios. Inside the black box In TripleHead2Go Digital Edition, when an analog input is used, the monitor signal from the computer is first converted to digital data using various techniques to ensure the best possible conversion. These techniques include gain compensation to normalize the signal and phase adjustment to properly interpret either the dual-link input signal or the analog input signal. With the dual-link digital input this conversation is not necessary as you are already in a digital domain. Then TripleHead2Go Digital Edition uses Matrox patent-pending technology to divide the display information into 3 display outputs. These signals are then passed through the 3 standard digital (DVI) or analog (VGA) monitor connectors or at the back of the TripleHead2Go Digital Edition box. Throughout the process, no pixels are added, dropped, scaled, or otherwise changed. TripleHead2Go Digital Edition preserves all the on-screen information provided by the original monitor signal.
