In order to satisfy the expectations of customers and viewers at events, the topic of 4K is becoming increasingly important. So that you can continue to use your current HD sources and displays in this context, Roland has developed the V-600UHD to make the transition to the 4K world according to your needs and budget. Thanks to Roland Ultra Scaler technology, you have a scaler in every entrance. In this way, you can use Full HD and 4K sources at the same time and play out signals in different resolutions. In addition, the high pixel density of 4K cameras can be used in full HD environments to realize demanding, visually impressive productions.
With the free Ver.2.0 update, the V-600UHD turns into a powerful production switcher for individual users. “Automatic ROI” is a technology-assisted camera workflow that combines reliable face recognition technology with Roland's powerful Region Of Interest function. Ver.2.0 offers all-in-one control of a large number of LAN-compatible PTZ cameras from different manufacturers.Download the latest version
Upgrading to 4K increases the image quality of your productions tremendously - sowhy should you invest in a switcher that provides more pixels without exploiting the full potential of 4K?
The V-600UHD uses High Dynamic Range [HDR] to enable events with exceptional image quality. The viewer doesn't just see more pixels - they see better, more dynamic pixels. The result: even more details in the darkest and lightest areas of the image. Compared to SDR, HDR also enables balanced stage lighting without oversaturation effects in IMAG applications. At the same time, the V-600UHD can also process and switch SDR signals.
The V-600UHD supports frame rates with a full 60 Hz and thus enables smooth, sharp video images without the blurring effects that can occur with fast movements on screens with a 30 Hz repetition rate.
In addition to the RGB and Rec.709 standards, the V-600UHD supports the extended Rec.2020 color space for the maximum possible color display. This provides a higher level of realism and improved color accuracy, especially in the red and yellow color range.
The internal 10-bit color depth processing reduces color stripes and sharpens the detailed input signals from the computer. In this way, fonts and other fine details can be seen much better, even with high scaling.
Not all 4K images have the same aspect ratio. Although 4K content always has a height of 2,160 pixels, DCI or "Cinema 4K" works with a width of 4,096 pixels, but UHD with 3,840 pixels. With the V-600UHD, content can be switched to the originally intended aspect ratio and displayed without cropping the image or having to resort to letterbox bars.
The V-600UHD has four HDMI 2.0 and two 12G-SDI inputs - perfect for events with various computer and video playback sources as well as the use of IMAG cameras. Each input enables the individual playback and scaling of signals with HD, Full HD, UHD-4K and DCI-4K resolution as well as computer resolutions from UXGA to DCI 4K, without having to use separate converters. Speaker monitors can be conveniently integrated by switching the AUX channels, while the configurable multi-view monitor allows you to see all sources, programs and preview images at once. In addition, the outputs support downscaling to Full HD in order to play out signals on streaming encoders or HD displays.
You do not necessarily need several cameras for several settings. Assuming you need a long shot of the stage, a medium setting of the speaker area and close-ups for each individual speaker, the V-600UHD offers you several integrated "Regions of Interest" [ROI]. In this way, you can point a single 4K camera onto the stage and use the input sharing and scaling functions of the V-600UHD to cut out up to eight “settings” and assign them to the cross points. Increase the quality of your productions without investing in additional cameras and thus unnecessarily increasing complexity and costs.
“Automatic ROI” is a technology-assisted 4K-to-HD camera workflow that combines face recognition technology with Roland's powerful Region Of Interest function. In conjunction with the Canon XF705 / 400/405 cameras, two of the region-of-interest windows of the V-600UHD automatically pan, tilt and zoom in order to follow two people within a scene. The result is dynamic, steady tracking shots without the need for a camera operator. The setup is quick and easy and only requires an HDMI and LAN cable.
The V-600UHD supports picture-in-picture (PnP) windows, with which you can create much more than just a fixed inset window. Achieve results that are comparable to the quality of dedicated screen processors, including fully customizable formats, sizes and scaling of the input sources. In this way, you can display any content in any position. Combine the PnP functionality with the ultra-wide DCI-4K image to create engaging and impressive screen sets.
The integration of integrated audio tracks from digital video signals in the context of events or live performances can be a challenge. With its 24-bit / 48-kHz audio processing, the V-600UHD offers flexible audio management with which you can avoid problems in advance. In this way, you can separate the audio signal from the currently selected video source and send it to an external audio mixer using the audio-follow-video function. At the same time, audio tracks can be integrated into signals on one or all video outputs and the result can then be streamed, recorded externally or played in an overflow room.
In a LAN network, PTZ cameras can be controlled via the V-600UHD. This enables the seamless integration of cameras from JVC, Panasonic, Sony, PTZOptics and Avonic as well as professional, VISCA-compatible Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) robotic cameras to optimize work processes without having to resort to a special controller.
LED displays have quickly become the favorite tool of creative event designers and regularly function as part of the stage backdrop or as a huge backdrop at music festivals. With the combined use of IMAG cameras, bright LED displays and an SDR switcher, there is often the challenge of putting presenters and musicians in the right light in front of LED walls without a shadowy contour. In combination with an HDR camera, the V-600UHD solves this problem and enables appropriately illuminated people and objects even in low-light stage areas with bright LED displays in the background.
Corporate events and festivals require image widths that exceed the HD format with its 1,920 pixels. Thanks to the support of DCI-4K cinema resolution, content can be switched to display widths of up to 4,096 pixels with the V-600UHD in order to realize the creative visions of ambitious event designers. The V-600UHD supports pixel-precise output scaling and enables direct connection to an LED display controller in the exact pixel dimensions, without having to resort to a dedicated scaling processor including increasing latency.
